What does Download Source Log store?
It stores available download metadata and settings in Chrome extension storage, including filenames, URLs, timestamps, status, and source/referrer information when Chrome provides it.
Why is Source / Referrer sometimes unavailable?
Chrome and the originating website may omit source/referrer information. Download Source Log records it when Chrome makes it available.
Does Download Source Log scan files for malware?
No. Download Source Log displays safety information reported by Chrome. It does not independently scan file contents or replace antivirus software.
Why can some direct download URLs stop working?
Some websites use temporary, signed, or session-based links. Those links can expire or stop working according to the website's own rules.
What does the Free plan include?
The Free plan keeps the latest 20 records and includes automatic new-download tracking, basic search, available source/referrer information, original and final URLs, Show in folder, and individual record removal.
What does Pro include?
Pro removes the Free plan's 20-record limit and adds Chrome history import/sync, CSV export, date, file-type and source-domain filters, flexible retention, and advanced history management.
How do I activate Pro?
After purchasing through Polar, use the license key in Download Source Log's Pro activation screen. Never share your full license key.
Why would I deactivate a device?
Deactivate a device when you no longer use Download Source Log on it and want to manage the devices associated with your Pro license.
Does removing a record delete my downloaded file?
No. Removing a Download Source Log record does not delete the downloaded file from your computer.
How do I clear Download Source Log history?
Use the history-management controls in Download Source Log to remove individual records or clear the stored history.
