The page you protect stays in your browser
Detection, masking, manual selection, and screenshot creation happen locally in the browser. Page content and screenshots are not sent to North Pixel or Polar. The extension does not use analytics or telemetry and does not request browsing-history, cookie, or identity permissions.
Pro licensing
Polar is contacted only when a user explicitly activates a purchased license. The license key is sent to Polar for validation but is not stored by the extension. The extension stores local preferences, daily usage counters, and the resulting unlocked entitlement state.

What does Safe-to-Share Redactor do?
It visually masks supported sensitive details on the current webpage, lets you select other page elements manually, and can create a protected local screenshot for review before sharing.
Which types of information can it detect automatically?
It can detect email addresses, structured phone numbers, high-confidence API keys and tokens, and Luhn-valid payment card numbers. IP addresses and currency-marked money amounts are optional and off by default.
Can it guarantee that everything sensitive is hidden?
No. Automatic detection reduces risk but cannot recognize every kind of private information. Always review the result before sharing.
What does one Hide use include?
Starting automatic protection or entering a new manual-selection session consumes one Hide use. A manual session can hide multiple items until Done or Escape.
Does Safe Screenshot consume a Hide use?
No. Safe Screenshot has its own independent allowance and does not consume a Hide use.
What happens after I reach one daily limit?
Reaching one limit does not block the other feature if it still has uses remaining.
Does it upload webpage content or screenshots?
No. Webpage content and screenshots are processed locally and are not sent to North Pixel or Polar.
What information is sent to Polar?
Only when you explicitly activate a purchased license is the license key sent to Polar for validation. The extension does not retain the license key.
What does the US$2.99 upgrade include?
The one-time Pro upgrade removes both daily usage limits. It does not change detection accuracy and it is not a subscription.
Can I restore the original page?
Yes. You can undo the latest manual selection or restore the original page without reloading.
What content cannot be scanned automatically?
Canvas content, images, PDFs, browser-native UI, shadow roots, and text inside cross-origin iframes are not automatically scanned. Always review the result before sharing.
